Allendale First – Scoping new life for the old school

Leading a team of volunteers from the community, this social enterprise is researching viability for acquiring, developing & managing the buildings & land of the former Allendale First School. By hosting extended versions of existing local enterprises –  childcare, health and wellbeing, library services and food growing – we’re hoping more families will be able to stay living in our rural community. First steps include commissioning community research and architectural plans to inform funding bids to redevelop this listed building through a Community Asset Transfer.
